Step 1 -- to create your table -- In your toolbar:

• Select Insert/Edit Table
• Enter 2 Colums
• Select Insert

Step 2  -- to make your table manageable -- in your toolbar:

• Select Table Cell Properties 
• Enter Width: 300, with your cursor in the left-hand column, which will make your project/essay 300 pixels and your annotation right-hand column 200 pixels
• Select Update
