I spent almost my entire weekend thinking about this.

Almost immediately people posted observations about gun control (pro/con); about how the killer's own video and written texts drew on the sexual objectification of women and men's entitlement; about the effects of an unchecked rape culture, and mental illness.

It's both an astonishingly sad situation and, unfortunately, another exercise in confirmation bias.

Social media had a better day than traditional media.
