My original map is definitely a hodgepodge. I did not really know what I was going for when I made it but there are some observations I can make. For one, the map appears as a web as I connected when I felt different aspects of English connected. I actually believe if I did a map in this style again this would be ineffective, as I know think all of my English experiences are all connected creating nearly infinite lines. I was breaking down thing pretty far, for instance, the inclusion of both theme and motif. I did not really think of this as all part of literary analysis, which would be interesting to track as a broader category. I see a repetition of both the works art and structure/form. These words tie in with my beliefs that literature is an art and my preference for formalist interpretations. It appears; I attempted to show artificially a clear progression between education levels that is wholly unconvincing to me looking back at my map. I believe I did this in order to create some cohesion when first confronted with the idea that English as a discipline that consists of split domains.
