Focus Area Rationale
My current work experience and education has prepared me to work with children and families in a preschool setting. I enjoy working with children, they challenge me to be patient and a creative teacher. My work experience in this field of education has brought me closer working with families. Helping the parents of the children in my care has been a humbling experience.
My focus area of Child Development is related to my goals because it will bring me one step closer to what I want; graduating from DePaul so that I may continue to grad school. My focus area reflects what I have done and continue to do. My goals at SNL before graduation are to further develop my writing, to gain leadership skills and to sharpen my public speaking skills.
My dream is to counsel women and children who are in need of rescue from domestic violence. My experience working with families at the preschool has been rewarding because I feel that I'm contributing to the future of education of their children. In partnering up with the parents I see how important it is to work together for the benefit of the children. My goal of is to eventually help support families by helping them make educated decisions conserning their families future, which brings me to my next career parth, social work. I would like to continue my education at a Social Work School in Chicago. I know this goal this attainable as long I work hard and stay focused. I genuinely believe in helping people and treating all people with respect and equality. I would like to improve people’s lives to the best of my ability.
