Hello,

Either you are interested in me, Mark Lazio, or you have stumbled upon me through the interweb.  Whatever your story for being here may be, come on in and find out who I am as a peer writing tutor.

You're still reading, so you must be interested, so I will tell you a bit about myself.  I am a writer.  Born and raised in Iowa.  I've been in a rodeo, and I've castrated baby pigs.  I love Thomas the Tank Engine and The Simpsons.  I enjoy cycling, and I bake homeade bread--a recipe handed down from my grandmother.

But most importantly, I consider myself a writer.  A writer of any texts: stories, essays, analyses, emails, texts, notes, you name it.  I love writing.  I love taking words and language and giving them meaning.  When I was young, my grandfather would tell me stories about his life.  I loved sitting and listening to him, a real story teller.  Even though I tell different stories, and in different ways, I carry on his tradition and passion for sharing stories and words with others.

I have tutored with the UCWbL for six years now, and it has been one of the best experiences for me as a writing, learner, and now teacher.  In the following sections and pages, I share my experiences in, reflections on, growth in, and love of peer writing tutoring.  This portfolio will give you an idea of who I am as a writer, peer writing tutor, worker, and person, so come on in.

Enjoy.
