Rosenthal, Elisabeth. “Testing, the Chinese Way”. The New York Times. September 12, 2010. Week in Review, pgs. 1 & 2.

In this article, from the Week in Review section of The New York Times, the author argues that in order for children to do better in school more test need to be administered. She is able to do this by comparing kids from america to kids from china where a lot more test are given to young kids than they are here. She does this by giving examples and showing information from past research. I believe she decided to write about this to show that kids need to be given test started when they are young so that they can work harder knowing that they’re going to be tested on the material. The audience who this article is intended for is most likely educators, parents, and the government.
