Welcome to my University Center for Writing-based Learning e-portfolio! My name is Gina O'Neill, and this e-portfolio covers my work as a tutor, the philosophy I base my practices on, as well as the ways in which this position will conduce to further professional opportunities in the future.

I'm a senior double majoring in English and French, and this quarter serves as my last at DePaul! This next step into the real world forces me to reflect on how I have progressed during my time as an UCWbL tutor. Working at the UCWbL has provoked signficant change not only in how I perceive my own writing but also in the way in which I interact with peers in a revision-based setting. I've grown tremendously as a writer and as a communicator through my time here, and I hope that's visible in this portfolio.

As you may have noticed, I have attempted to incorporate both my areas of study in this portfolio: French and English literature. I often post images from my time studying abroad in Paris, France, which was a formative and multicutural experience! There, I swapped roles with my French peers, as I was the apprentice who attempted to master the language both in speaking and in the written word. All the while, I grappled with cultural nuances and roadblocks, which I'm sure affect English Language Learners at DePaul and in anglophone countries in general. It was humbling to be in that position but exciting to have so much to learn at my fingertips.
