The person I am memorializing is Ann Barzel. She is most noted as a critic and reviewer of dance, as well as a collector of dance memorabilia. She provided the foundation for the Chicago Dance Collection at the Newberry Library in Chicago and within it holds her own collection. She can be remembered as a Chicago rhetor by her long career of reviewing Chicago dance events for over forty years and providing the foundation for Chicago’s dance culture to be remembered.
