  Cheryl Kent was born and raised in Illinois and currently lives in a Chicago suburb with her husband and two children. When Cheryl is not working or busy with academics, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, attending concerts, watching movies, reading, and camping. 

 

Mrs. Kent started her career in banking, but found that her true passion was working with children in the field of education.  Cheryl recently completed her 9th year in the field and she enjoys working in the public school environment. Currently, Mrs. Kent is employed as a library resource center teacher assistant.  Cheryl’s long-term goal is to embark on a rewarding career as a school social worker. 

 

As a motivated and determined returning adult student, Cheryl attended Joliet Junior College from 2004 until receiving her associate degree in arts in 2010. During Cheryl's tenure at Joliet Junior college she belonged to the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and graduated with honors. 

 

Mrs. Kent received her Bachelors degree in Applied Behavioral Science from DePaul University in 2012 and is an active member of the presigious Phi Kappa Phi National honor society. 

 

Currently, Cheryl is enrolled in the Masters of Social Work program at Aurora Univeristy. Mrs. Kent's future academic and career goals are to graduate from Aurora University in 2015 and secure a position in the field of education as a school social worker.

  

 

 Cheryl truly believes that all children have the potential to learn and grow into productive and successful adults.
