Project  Overview

     Does the modern workplace keep a space for appreciation which ensures engagement and productivity for the worker?  Often the answer is no as our modern workplace faces many challenges especially in the current downturn economy where focus on employee well-being is being minimized or eliminated.  The purpose of this literature review is to aid in creating a project that will discover the experience of appreciation in the workplace through evaluation of my pilot programs, review of the literature and theory.  Furthermore, it is to understand how leaders can create an engaging environment through Appreciation Space by using appreciation and the contributing factors of: standards, culture, awareness, and vision.  This research project will address the following research question:

 

 

How does the incorporation of appreciation into the workplace contribute to an engaging environment and how can leaders create a successful Appreciation Space?

 

 

This thematic summary will analyze four themes from the literature which include:

1. Definition of Appreciation in the Workplace

2. Supporting Factors of Appreciation

3. Engaging Employees

4. Guidelines for Leaders
