Truth
Lies in the cracks of the sidewalk
Like a flock of geese forming a “v” over the lake
And when he says that is almost all he needs
I see the light in his eyes almost fade
Like an abused sunset
And I can relate because she only wants to be seen
When he swings her around the room watches
And the clock on the wall loses all its patience
Because it knows the truth
And the tiles on the floor soak up their energia
Like a person that thinks he or she can speak a different language
Without cracking the case
Of what to follow
And each syllable she says
Clashes with the next
But he just listens
And the ache in his heart
Only comes out in the night time
When I trust him not to lie
And when I sit down to write about them
It makes me wonder if they weren’t meant for each other
And I get jealous
Because he can’t see the lie in her facial expression
But I can
And you would be able to, also,
If you knew the truth
