Poem 11/12/18
Oh, and I’m just waiting ‘til the shine wears off
The mulberry bush is doing it for me
And leaves drop off of the branches of a tea tree
The left-hand man sets me free
My favorite British band is best friends with Keane
I’m a million different people from one day to the next
She sees through the screen when her best friend texts
My Dad said I’m going East so I’m going West
The thing where the sun rises and really sets is what would be next
And I saw the red horizon when one was driving by
I really want to soar but I really still can’t fly
I’ll die in the clouds above
And you that I defend I do not love
The banana is good but the orange is enough
Love can be fun and hate can be tough
I leave on Pandora to find my new stuff
He saw a pigeon but I see a dove
Blue-eyed boy meets a brown eyed girl
All that is a palate is an artist’s world
When I was younger my red hair was curled
As I sat on my mom’s lap while the softball was hurled
You can sew it up but you still see the tear
The summer after it happened, I went to a fair
And I saw one of them walking with a gate of care
I was looking at a girl that had never seen a mirror
