Thank you to our 2015

Month of Writing Challengers!

Despite this being a very busy October, our challengers wrote nearly 150,000 words this year.

In addition to the School for New Learning, we had representation from three other DePaul colleges in our challenge: the College of Communication, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and the College of Science and Health. Our challengers also represented the student body, faculty, staff, and alumni of DePaul, as well as some friends of DePaul outside the University!

Our top three word count finishers:

  1. cstevens (52,738)
  2. STF (25,254)
  3. Jokr624 (25,098)

Great work, and great inspiration for all of us! Here are some more numbers to keep in mind as you set your writing goals for next year’s challenge:

Our participants averaged 13,501 words per person, which equals 436 words per day or 22 minutes of writing a day. That means that if you only write for half an hour each day during the next MOW Challenge, you can easily meet a personal goal of over 15,000 words!

Thanks again for a wonderful challenge—we look forward to celebrating the 5th Annual Month of Writing with you all next year!
